Yep, I started a blog. Here’s why.

Hello world!  (Thanks for helping me break the ice, WordPress.)

Anybody want a peanut?

So it’s time for me to start blogging.  Why?  Well to be honest I don’t have any “good” reasons, per se (and I actually have a few good reasons NOT to blog, such as tons of wasted time and being made fun of by non-blogging friends) but here is my rationale nontheless:

Why Blog? Reason 1: Blog Envy

I’m jealous of my boyfriend’s awesomely yuppie music blog (with readers from, like, Amsterdam!) and peeved that I rarely get shout-outs despite my crucial role as frequent concert date and, let’s be honest, muse.

Why Blog? Reason 2: Useless Tidbits

I am often bursting with random and otherwise completely useless tidbits  relating to music, food, fashion, New York City happenings, things I find amazing, etc. and I think it’s time to consolidate them in one place that people have the option of reading if they’d like rather than spam my friends’ inboxes.

Also, it would be cool to have a record of these tidbits for when I am old and run out of interesting things to say / do.  (Just kidding I plan to be THIS awesome when I’m old.)

Totally.

Why Blog? Reason 3: Narcissism

As is apparently typical of my much-maligned generation, I am, well, narcissistic.  It’s important to me that people to think I am clever and witty and INTERESTING and so I am compelled to share my brilliance with the world.  It’s a crushing burden, really.  So please forgive me in advance for my delusional self-obsession and need to share.  But remember that it’s not my fault, I blame society.

Why Blog? Reason 4: Fame and Fortune

Forget all the other crap, I actually just want to become disgustingly Gosselin-style famous, quit my job, sign an eleventy-billion dollar book deal and get tons of free “swag” before the F.T.C. crackdown.

Also, I haven’t actually settled on the title, layout or content of this blog yet so, legions of fans, feel free to weigh in!
